Honda Cars India has issued a recall for the all-new Honda Amaze to fix a potential issue with the electric power steering on the compact sedan. The recall is said to affect 7,290 units of the second-gen compact sedan, made between April 17 and May 24, 2018.
The Japanese carmaker claims that the problem with the power steering could cause the steering to feel heavy and cause the EPS indicator light to blink. Honda will replace the power steering unit of affected vehicles after inspection, without any cost to owners.
Owners of the affected Honda Amaze will be contacted individually starting July 26, 2018, so that the part’s replacement can be undertaken at Honda dealerships across the country. Customers can also check if their vehicles have been affected by putting in the car’s 17 character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on a new microsite that can be accessed via the official website.
The Japanese brand has recently launched the for-2018 Jazz in our market and has one major launch scheduled for this year, the all-new, seven-seat CR-V, which will debut Honda’s 120hp, 1.6-litre diesel engine in India.
