Maruti Suzuki launches Suzuki Connect at Rs 9,999

In a bid to add more appeal to its premium retail channel, Nexa, Maruti Suzuki has launched a telematics solution called Suzuki Connect for customers of the Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz and S-cross – models sold through the premium dealership.

Suzuki Connect includes features like emergency alerts, preventive assistance, vehicle tracking, live vehicle status, driving behaviour analysis and convenience alerts. Maruti has said that the solution has been designed to cater to customers’ daily worries.

“A nationwide extensive study was conducted to understand the challenges that Indian car owners face daily and their expectations from these solutions,” said RS Kalsi, Senior Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki.

Suzuki Connect will be provided as an option, and customers can get the device installed by paying a premium of Rs 9,999 and have access to integrated services through the Nexa App on their smartphone. Moreover, it can be configured to send details to five selected users in case of an emergency.

Additionally, the company also claims that the Telematics Control Unit (TCU) shares information with a centralised server and is connected to the Nexa customer care through a cellular network, and this makes it difficult to tamper with. Maruti is said to have trained over 2,800 technicians to install the equipment on the cars.
