Isuzu Motors India has rolled out a D-Max V-Cross pickup as the 10,000th vehicle from its SriCity factory in Andhra Pradesh. The SriCity plant went operational in April 2016 and has been producing the D-Max V-Cross pickup and the MU-X SUV for the personal vehicle segment, and the D-Max S-Cab and Regular Cab models for the commercial segment.
The carmaker had crossed cumulative sales of 10,000 units in March 2018, which included models manufactured at Hindustan Motors’ facility near Chennai till early 2016. Of the total production, the passenger vehicle segment comprising the Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross and Isuzu MU-X accounted for 5,314 units, while its commercial segment ( S-cab and regular cab) accounted for 4,686 units.
The SriCity plant was inaugurated by the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu in April 2016 and the company rolled out the first V-Cross, marking the commencement of its manufacturing operations in India.
The plant is one of the key manufacturing hubs for Isuzu globally and has already begun exports to neighbouring countries of Nepal and Bhutan.
