Isuzu MU-X facelift spied testing in India

Test mules of the Isuzu MU-X facelift have been spotted in India with some cosmetic changes.

When Isuzu launched the MU-X in India in 2017, the facelift was already out in certain international markets. Now, after a year of its launch, we’ve got some spy images of the facelift doing its rounds in India, indicating a launch in the coming months.

This facelifted version is likely to sport projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights and subtle changes to the front bumper. Other noticeable changes include new alloy wheels, LED elements inside the tail-lamps and a revised rear bumper. The rest of the car remains largely unchanged, so it still has a butch road presence and its tough ladder-frame construction.

The big changes are likely to be inside the car, with a redesigned dashboard that will now have a two-tone beige-and-black colour theme (that’ll replace the all-black dashboard) and will get artificial wood trim to lift the cabin’s appeal, along with some soft-touch bits. The centre fascia on the dash too is likely to get a silver surround and a new touchscreen infotainment system. Seat upholstery is also likely to be a bit different compared to the car that’s sold here. That aside, Isuzu will also add some new features to make the MU-X more appealing.

It will most likely be powered by the same 177hp 3.0-litre diesel with either two- or four-wheel drive mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. However, the international version gets a six-speed automatic with this engine, which could make it to India.
